The Society for Pediatric Sedation just hosted the Fifth International Multidisciplinary Conference on Pediatric Sedation, May 23-26 at the Hyatt Regency Louisville, Louisville, KY. The conference draws approx 180 to 300 sedation providers from children’s hospitals around the country. Of the total participants, 55% are physicians, 30% nurses/nurse practitioners and 15% are allied health.

In the three years since its inception in 2007, the Society has gained approximately 455 members. This is the only society for sedation providers that encourages membership from all disciplines involved in the sedation of children. Their mission is to improve overall care and safety during sedation and the advancement of research in the field of pediatric sedation.
